Our Services

Teacher and School Leader Professional Development

We offer ongoing workshops to equip educators with current best practices and biblically integrated teaching strategies to foster both personal and professional growth. This is mediated and effectively served through ACSI training programs based on its global core standards for quality in Christian educational practices. These include the Paths to School Improvement (PSI), and Teacher Certification Program

Teacher Certification Program - Africa Pilot Project

Aims to equip 1 million teachers in biblical worldview and intergration by 2050.

Why invest in teachers?

  • Equipping teachers in biblical worldview and integration is a Kingdom investment and essential for preparing the next generation.
  • About 60 percent of Africa’s current population is under the age of 25. With such a young population, the demand for qualified teachers continues to grow to meet the exponential student growth. We have a remarkable opportunity to resource and train African teachers with Christian educational standards.
  • Investing in African teachers is a direct investment in the success of their students. Recent empirical research conducted in Africa has shown a strong link between the quality and conditions of teachers and the academic performance of their students.

Strategy & delivery process

  • Work with the African Church, schools, and Christian universities to equip 1 million teachers through a certification program in biblical worldview and integration by 2050.
  • Roll out the teacher certification program through regional pilot projects for testing and build a proof of concept by 2027.
  • Evaluate and draw from the pilot project experience to contextually inform our practices when implementing the certification program widely across Africa.
  • Partner with a wide range of qualified African Christian universities, theological seminaries, and Bible institutes for delivery of the certification program on a continental scale.

Developed and created by Africans

This program is the result of the 2023 African Roundtable 4, a gathering where 236 in-person participants from 30 African nations and seven other countries came together for fellowship in Christ. They engaged in listening, learning, and dialogue to shape a collective response to the ACSI 2023 Roundtable theme: "Envisioning the Church and Christian Education Together for Africa 2050."

Based on global core standards

ACSI established a committee of twelve teacher training experts from seven global regions to develop global core standards. This committee identified five universally relevant standards that uphold high global requirements. These standards ensure that teachers possess foundational knowledge of teaching theory and practice, demonstrate biblical understanding, and create integrated lessons with a biblical worldview.

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” – 2 Timothy 2:2

National Associations of Christian Schools

ACSI encourages and supports the development of national associations of Christian Schools (NACS) into representative, legitimate, legally recognized and operationally viable entities. Such NACS normally federate a large body of the existing national Christian schools, are well connected with the national church body across different denominations, and are led by the citizens of the host countries.

An ACSI country office related to the NACS is vested with the mission to advance the movement of Christian education, generally, and Christian schooling, in particular, within its national jurisdiction. It federates local Christian schools through a representative, legitimate, legal, and viable entity, providing quality educational services to those member schools and others, either directly or through service providers; promoting and developing Christian schooling; advocating for government support and liaison; facilitating the professional development of Christian school staff; and promoting ACSI membership.
